The Great Dane

The Great Dane, in its overall noble appearance, combines pride, strength and elegance with a robust and well-built body. Through its substance combined with nobility, the harmony of its lines and its particularly expressive head, it gives the observer the impression of a noble statue. It is neither coarse nor exaggeratedly elegant.

Friendly in character, it is the very large companion dog par excellence. It is loving and very attached to family members, especially children. It may show reserve toward strangers.
It requires good training, to which it submits with the greatest pleasure; well-balanced, it is confident, docile, receptive, endowed with a high reaction threshold, but devoid of any aggressiveness.
A very deterrent guard dog, it can be the courageous defender of its master, but is also a perfect pleasure and companion dog.

Fauve & Bringé
Coat ranging from pale gold-yellow to intense gold-yellow, evenly distributed. Black mask is desired.
Brindle fawn: gold-yellow background with regular black stripes following the direction of the ribs.
Noir, Gris bigarré & Arlequin
Black: lacquer black, with white markings allowed on the chest and feet.
Harlequin: pure white background with lacquer-black patches with torn outlines.
Merle: grey background with black patches.
Bleu
Pure steel blue. White markings are allowed on the chest and feet.
